Teamwork – Using Multiple Robots

Teamwork In Action

Smart Partitioning – GPS

For large and complicated areas it is not always the highest capacity robot that is the right choice. Any Ambrogio robot mowers with GPS can be easily worked together in a team within an area to mow larger areas than their individual capacity.

Using the Smart Partitioning system, GPS enabled robots share data with each other about where they have mown. GPS positioning allows each robot to mow a different area and avoid intensively cutting the same parts of the lawn.

Using this method of teamwork, one large perimeter wire installation can be laid with multiple base stations around this perimeter.

In addition to the mowing algorithms, the mowers can each have a preferred base station marked with a GPS tag. When their mowing cycle is complete, the robot mower can return to this, crossing the lawn using GPS instead of following the perimeter wire around the lawn. This speeds up the time to charging so the mower can complete it’s cuts quicker, while it also reduces the wear around the lawn edges from travel.

Fast Growing Lawn?
Restricted Access To Lawn?

If you need more frequent cutting, or the amount of time the robots can be on the lawn for is very limited, the system can be configured to ensure the area is cut quicker each session. With the lawn fully cut and maintained in a fraction of the time, more complete mows can be carried out each week, or more free lawn time achieved.

Now the area can be used for longer, or mown more frequently to keep rapid growth under control.

This is an ideal solution for sport pitches and/or municipal areas that require the areas to be usable for as many hours a week as possible, or where they are highly fertilised and therefore very rapidly growing.

Split Installations

Run the Ambrogio robot mowers separately on their own perimeter wire configurations next to each other.

An alternative combing multiple robots in one perimeter installation is to operate them in their own dedicated areas. Ambrogio robots can be operated on several different wire signal channels. This significantly reduces interference and allows multiple installations to be configured adjacent to each other, with each robot having a separate area which it is responsible for.

The mowers still utilise all their standard features, so GPS enabled machines will continue to implement Smart Partitioning to segment the lawn to mow the lawns as quickly as possible.

Depending on the models used and distances between the wires there may be a small strip of uncut lawn between installations. This is affected by many factors, so for more information please contact us directly or your local Ambrogio dealer.

Management

Whichever method you choose to implement, multiple robots can be managed on the Ambrogio app in your garage. Keep track of working statuses and GPS locations from anywhere in the world.
